Francisco Buenrostro was born November 24, 1923 in Jalisco, Mexico to Jose and Emilia (Vargas) Buenrostro. He began working at a young age to help support his family. Francisco came to the Shafter area over 70 years ago. He worked in the agriculture industry his entire life; the last 20 years of his career he was with Belridge Farms. Francisco married Candalaria Buenrostro on July 19, 1970 in Tijuana. He was a true patriarch, and he felt blessed that so much of his time was spent with his family. Whether it was taking camping and hunting trips or simply having everyone over to his house for weekends filled with grilling, there was always close company. Francisco was a proud man, and he stayed strong all the way to the end. He will be greatly missed. Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Emilia; his wife, Candalaria; two sons, Francisco and Martin Buenrostro; a grandson, Francisco; and his brothers, Gumercindo and Luis Buenrostro. He is survived by his sons, Jesus, Francisco, Juan, Jose and Marcelo Buenrostro; daughters, Rosalba Delgado, Esperanza Buenrostro, Bertha Hernandez and Candy Garza; 41 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren. Visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, on Thursday, March 03, 2016 from 4-8pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Therese's Catholic Church on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2pm and interment followed at Shafter Memorial Park. Father Walter Colocho officiated the service.
