Our dear brother, uncle and friend left us unexpectedly on Thursday, May 19, 2011. Francisco Bastida Unamuno who was known by many as "Pachi" was born in Eskultasolo, Spain, on January 29, 1945, to Feliciana Bastida (Arriola) and Cecilio Unamuno Arriaga. He came to Kern County in 1966, and made Bakersfield his home for 45 years. He was a hard worker, a compassionate man who loved spending time in his vegetable garden, enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but had a special interest in futbol soccer and handball, dancing to all types of Latin music and made it a point to attend the Annual Basque Picnics in town. Many who had the opportunity to meet and spend time with him will miss him. Francisco B. Unamuno, was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Louise Unamuno (2001); brother Ignacio Unamuno; brother-in-law Frank Ansolabehere (2010), he is survived by his loving friend Victoria Chavez; siblings Miren Unamuno, Maite Ibaiondo and Alfonso Unamuno (all of Spain); In-Laws Pauline (Joe) Freitas, Herman (Jeannette) Porter and Pascal (Shirley) Ansolabehere; many acquaintances and friends he had throughout the years. 10 am Rosary-Mass combination will be held for Francisco "Pachi" Unamuno, age 66, of Bakersfield, Friday, May 27, 2011, at St. Francis Church and officiated by Father Gerry Chavez; interment will immediately follow at Union Cemetery. ************************************************************************ Nuestro querido hermano, tío y amigo nos deja de improviso el Jueves, 19 de Mayo de 2011. Francisco Bastida Unamuno que era conocido por muchos como "Pachi" nació en Eskultasolo, España el 29 de Enero, 1945 a Bastida Feliciana (Arriola) y Cecilio Unamuno Arriaga. Él vino al Condado Kern en 1966 e hizo Bakersfield su casa durante 45 años. Él era un trabajador concienzudo, un hombre compasivo que amó dedicar su tiempo en su huerto, disfrutó mirando todas las clases de deportes, pero tenía un interés especial a fútbol y balonmano, bailando a todos los tipos de la música latina e hizo un punto de asistir a los Picnics de Vascos Anuales en la ciudad. Muchos quién tubieron la oportunidad de encontrar y dedicar el tiempo con él lo echarán de menos. Francisco B. A las 10 am la combinación de Misa y Rosario será sostenida para Francisco "Pachi" Unamuno, edad 66, de Bakersfield, el Viernes, 27 de Mayo de 2011 en San. La Iglesia de Francis y ejerció por el Padre Gerry Chavez; el entierro seguirá inmediatamente en el Cementerio de Unión.
