Born in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Santiago and Thomasa Ramos, Francis lost both her parents at an early age and along with her 5 siblings were raised by her aunt and uncle. Married in 1944 to Baltazar (Steve) Lopez she spent the remainder of her life in Shafter, with a few relocations during his Army career. She loved her 10 children and was ingeniously resourceful in caring for us. Our family was treated to delicious meals with perfect tortillas, kept warm with beautiful quilts and dressed with newly sewn clothes. Her family meant everything to her, and she meant everything to her family. Francis was preceded in death y her husband of 57 years and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 10 children. Her 5 sons and spouses: Steve & Francine, Dave & Ida, John & Chris, Joe & Janis, Mike & Phyllis. Her 5 daughters and spouses: Virgie & Rick Gilbert, Every Parker, Mary & Ron Cruz, Liz & Dennis Byrnes, Rachel & Reynaldo Samarripas. Also 24 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great granddaughter. She set an incredible example of love, hard work, and ingenuity for her children and grandchildren. We were so blessed to have such a wonderful mother. The next time we see a rainbow, we'll know she's in heaven stretching out fabric for her next quilt. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, from 4:00pm- 8:00pm with the Rosary at 6:00pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter. Mass, St. Therese's on Friday August 31 at 10:00 am.
