Frances Joyce Morris was born December 5, 1934 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Laura (Adams) and Clarence Southerland, one of four children. Frances and George W. Morris were married May 9, 1952 and moved to Wasco. Frances was a long-time member of Christ Community Church where she and George were very active. During their younger years, they ran the youth group at church. George passed away January 26, 1980. Frances moved to Arkansas and married Eugene Gardner in 1996. When Eugene passed away in 2002, Frances returned to Wasco to be with family. Frances enjoyed gardening and taking care of her dog, Christie. Frances is survived by her four children, Ronnie Morris and wife Rhonda of Wasco, Greg Morris and wife Linda of Bakersfield, Dale Morris and wife April of Arkansas and Gail Rodriguez and husband Frank of Wasco ; brother, Duane Southerland of Long Beach; beloved sister-in-law, Carolyn Allen; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brother, James Southerland and sister, Margaret Beach. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 22 at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park for Frances Joyce Morris, age 75, of Wasco who passed away September 19, 2010 in Bakersfield. Pastor Wayne Montgomery will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 21, from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
