IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fern
Streiff
October 14, 1933 – April 2, 2016
Fern passed away peacefully in her own home the morning of April 2, 2016. One of her daily rituals was glancing over the headlines of the newspaper and then reading the obituaries to learn if any of her acquaintances had passed. Well Mom, it's hard to write but we hope you approve of this one for you. Fern was a lifelong Wasco resident. She attended elementary and high schools in Wasco. She worked for a while at PG&E. She met the of love her life, Skip Streiff, and they were married in 1952. She made our family her full-time job. She was a 4-H leader for many years helping other kids. She enjoyed the simple things in life. Her heart and her home were always open to others – always full of people and life. It didn't hurt that she was a great cook. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great joy for her. She rarely missed any of their events. Fern is preceded in death by her husband (Skip) and her parents (George and Sadie Emerson). She is survived by her children (Kathleen Critchfield, Georgette Breedveld, Melinda Mello, and Patrick Streiff), grandchildren (Jennifer Hewes, Thais Soprakolle, Travis Hanley, Riana Mello, PT and Hannah Streiff), 6 great-grandchildren, and sisters (Vera Streiff and Ruby Cronian). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park for Fern Streiff, age 82, of Wasco, who passed away on April 2. Father Raul Sanchez will officiate and interment will follow. If you would like to make a donation to honor Fern, please direct your gift to Sisters of Saint Francis Foundation, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston
