Obituary

Services have been scheduled for Everett Lee Uzzle, 62, of Bakersfield, who passed away March 31, 2008 in Bakersfield. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm, Friday, April 4 and 8:30 -9:30 am, Saturday, April 5 at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter. A graveside service will be held at 10 am at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Tommy White will officiate. Everett was born December 22, 1945 in Carrier Mills, Illinois to Everett and Flossie Uzzle. He attended local schools in Illinois graduating high school in Harrisburg, Ill. He married Jonita White on January 27, 1964 in Harrisburg and they had three sons. Everett worked as a corrections officer for 8 years and was a food director in corrections for 30 years. He enjoyed collecting pirate and Civil War memorabilia. He will be remembered as an honest man who was well respected as a man of integrity. He kept his word and was a fair, loving and reserved man. Everett is survived by his wife, Jonita; sons, Shannon, John and wife, Lisa, Everett Jr and wife, Nanette; sister, Mary Ruth Seabock; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Carter.
