Everett William Stanley was born November 11, 1932 in Ringold, Oklahoma to Samuel and Ida (Calloway) Stanley. He moved to California in 1948 and back to Oklahoma for a short time before returning to Lamont permanently in 1960. He and Lily Belle Johnson were married June 2, 1952 in Las Vegas. Everett worked in agriculture and as a truck driver. He drove for RC Moser and Bill Fargo before retiring. Everett loved to fish and going to the coast to fish off the pier was his favorite. He also went fishing on the Kern River and at Lake Isabella. Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Belle January 29, 1984 and by his daughter, Judith Davidson March 11, 1999. He is survived by his son, Everett Stanley, Jr.; daughters, Brenda Russell and husband Eddie, Sandra Harrison, Mary Davidson, Cynthia Chavez and Gwendolyn Davis, all of Bakersfield; brother, Marvin Stanley and wife Vickie of Delano; sister, Shirley Stanley of Bakersfield; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members. A funeral service will be held in the Outdoor Chapel of South Kern Cemetery District, Arvin on Tuesday, October 2, at 2pm for Everett William Stanley, age 74, of Bakersfield who passed away September 27, 2007 in Bakersfield. Pastor Joseph Mullarney will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Monday, October 1 from 2pm to 8 pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, Lamont and Tuesday, October 2 from 10am to 1pm.
