IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn
Launer
January 18, 1929 – February 9, 2009
Laughter, joking, roller coasters, roller skating and rodeos remind family of Evelyn Launder, who was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Pasadena and died Feb. 9, 2009, in the Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center. A lifelong resident of California and 10-year resident of Joshua Tree, she was the daughter of Raymond McCan and Louise Whitely McCan. She was married for 20 years to Malcolm E. Launer. She is survived by her four children, Marilyn Hosier of Bakersfield, Michael Launer of Bakersfield, Elayne Tedrow of Elyria, Ohio, and Loretta (Lori) Parsons of Palmdale; sister Eileen Eckert; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Shearer, sister Bessie Morton, grandson Michael and granddaughter Kimberly. Mrs. Launer was known for her deep spiritual convictions, quick wit and great love of horses. Her family extended its thanks for her care to the staff of the Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center, the Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice of Yucca Valley and especially her nurse, Janis. Memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Joey Joseph Feb. 21 in the Jesus House of Prayer chapel at 6415 Outpost Road in Joshua Tree. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial donations be made to Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties in Yucca Valley.
