It is with deep sadness that the family of Evelyn Louise (Garner) Little Knight announces her passing on Monday March 31, 2025 at the age of 99 in Bakersfield, CA.  She is pre-deceased by her parents Floyd and Rosella Garner, her sister Margaret, her first husband Donald Little, her 2nd husband Norman Knight and her great-grandson Dalton Greaves.

Evelyn was born on January 26, 1926 in Dinuba, CA.  The family soon moved to Bakersfield, CA.  She met and married Don Little of Shafter, CA in 1948. Their daughter Donna was born in August 1949 and son Richard in 1951.

Evelyn worked as administrative assistant at Richland School District in Shafter for 31 years.  She was active in many local organizations and a member of the Congregational Church in Shafter.  She also travelled with Don to many locations and for National Kiwanis Club Conventions.  Don passed away in 1990 and Evelyn remarried in 2000 to Norman Knight.  She and Norman were avid square dancers, active members of Parkside Church Bakersfield, members of Model T Club Kern County and Horseless Carriage Club of America.  They toured in antique cars throughout the US.

She is survived by her daughter Donna (Glen) Cornell, her son Richard (Cris) Little, her grandchildren who were very special to her; Derek (Kerry) McCabe, Aimee (Chris) Steiner, Brian (Kristen) Little, nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.  Evelyn will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Graveside services will be held on Friday April 25, 2025, 2pm in the afternoon at the Shafter Cemetery.
