Obituary

Eva A Sutton, 91 year old Checotah resident, died Friday, April 19, 2013 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She was born on Tuesday, September 27, 1921 in Checotah, Texas to John and Beulah (Chonico) Hall. She grew up in Roland, Oklahoma where she attended school until the fourth grade. Eva became a farm laborer and the married Thurman Sutton on Saturday, June 21, 1941 in Van Buren, Arkansas. They moved to California and continued working as laborers. She later worked for Shell Oil Company as a supervisor, retired and moved to Checotah, Oklahoma in 2002. Eva loved to go fishing and camping with family and friends. She was a member of the Mission Outreach Church. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Betty Sattemire, Peggy Sue Hossman, three sisters and three brothers. Eva is survived by her husband, Thurman "Doc" Sutton; children, Charles Sutton and wife Emma, Gloria McAffee and husband Odell, Bobbie Lynn Huffman; and David Sutton and his wife Candace. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, other extended family and a host of friends. A graveside Service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2pm At Wasco Memorial Park and Interment will follow. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 12noon-4pm at Peters Funeral Home.
