On Monday, July 27, 2020, Eva Aguilar entered eternal rest at the young age of 92. She was born on July 12, 1928 in Wasco, CA to Alejandro Ortiz and Concepcion Hernandez. Eva attended local elementary schools and graduated from Wasco High School in 1946. She married Joe Aguilar on November 21, 1948. They raised six children: two sons and four daughters. Joe and Eva owned and operated Joe's Market for 45 years, during which time the community formed a relationship of respect and admiration for Eva. She was frequently recognized by members of the community and thanked for the memories she inspired in others. She and Joe were the 1990 Rose Parade Grand Marshals. Eva was devoted to the Catholic religion, maintaining her faith up to and surpassing the time of her death. She attended church faithfully and enjoyed seeing all of her friends at mass. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Gilbert Aguilar, daughter Yvonne Aguilar, husband Joe Aguilar, her sisters, brothers, great-grandson, and several cousins. Eva is survived by son Joey Aguilar and wife Cindy, daughter Valerie Aguilar, daughter Rebecca Espinoza and husband Ernie, daughter Olivia Jimenez and husband Manuel, along with nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren who all loved her very deeply. Eva, affectionately known by family as "Gram", was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, godmother, and friend. She loved her trips to the casino, her LA Dodgers, and spending time with her family. Gram loved fiercely, unconditionally, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A viewing will be held for Eva on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., with a Rosary at 6 P.M. Graveside services will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10 A.M. at the Wasco Cemetery. We would love to honor Gram at her services by wearing her favorite color, red.
