Obituary

Eunice Mae Kroeker was born on February 19,1936 to Samuel and Mary Bartel. They lived at Greeley school till they moved to the home place on Heath Road. Her family attended Rosedale Mennonite Brethren Church where she accepted Christ June 13, 1948. She attended Bakersfield High School. After graduation she attended Pacific Bible Institute (PBI) where she graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies. After graduation she worked at the Bakersfield Californian newspaper. She also enjoyed singing in the Collegenians. During that time, she was set up on a blind date with Arnold Kroeker. Arnold and Eunice were married On April 1,1960 and lived in Wasco. She worked at Maple Leaf Farms in the office until the twins were born in 1962, Galen and Shirla. After that she was able to stay home and be a devoted wife and loving mother. She gave birth to Byron in 1966 and in January of 1967 the family moved to the house on Poso Drive. In years that followed she was very active at the Wasco Mennonite Brethren Church. She taught Sunday school, cooked many fundraiser meals with Stitch-n-study and sang in the church choir. She started teaching 1st and 2nd grade at North Kern Christian School in 1979, and taught there for 26 years. She loved and prayed for each and every one of her students. Arnold and Eunice enjoyed many years living in the home on Poso Drive. They both enjoyed cooking Peppernuts, Zwieback and she loved cooking her famous Apple Pies. They also enjoyed growing many succulents which they loved giving away. After Arnold's passing in 2020, Eunice lived on Poso Drive for 4 more years until she moved to Carrington in Shafter. There she made many friends and was taken care of until the Lord took her home on January 6, 2026. There are a few special people we need to thank Judy Neufeld, a dear and special friend for many, many, years. Keith and Jennifer Fields, for all the love and help you both have provided to mom. Dianna Agee, for the many rides and adventures. The special ladies that sat at her table at Carrington. And last but not least the Wasco and Shafter MB church members. Eunice will be missed but we know she is in heaven with her loving Heavenly Father. Eunice lived by the motto of Psalms 63:1-8. "My Soul Thirsts for You." She drank of Living Water and her thirst for evermore is satisfied.

John 7:37-38, 37b "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as[a] the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"
