IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Estelle Lenora
Scott
December 21, 1917 – April 24, 2008
Estelle was born to Noah and Viola Ritchie in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She and her brother were raised by their grandmother. She met Glin Scott in her teens and he would ride his horse from Arkansas on weekends to court her. They married in 1937 and moved to Arvin, California where their three sons were born. They were her pride and joy. Estelle loved people; she had many friends throughout her life. She loved her times with her quilting friends at the Arvin Assembly of God Church. Estelle was preceded in death by her mother and father; daughters-in-law, Charlene and Laura; grandson, Kevin; youngest son, Delbert; and her husband Glin. Those that will remember her are her brother, Arlanda; sisters, Wanda, Wanette and Coleen; sister-in-law, Wanetta; sons, Utah and Dean; daughter-in-law, Cecile; grandchildren, Karen, Bobby, Stephanie, Kim, Mike, Darren, Steve and Shannon; and many loving great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thank you to all those at Hallmark Assisted Living where she was a resident. Estelle loved them very much. Also, thank you to Hoffman Hospice; they took such wonderful care of Estelle in her final days. A service will be held in the outdoor chapel at South Kern Cemetery, Arvin on Wednesday, April 30 at 10am. Pastor Craig Amos of the Arvin Assembly of God Church will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 29, from 2pm to 8pm at Arvin Funeral Home.
