Our Wife, Sister and Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother was born April 29, 1931 to Guadalupe V and Anselma Garcia in Uvalde, Texas. Estella was the oldest daughter of 12 children. Estella was a graduate of East Bakersfield High School. She met and married Elias B Flores III and together they have five children Vicki Brown-husband Gary, Raymond Flores-wife Bonita, Sandra Saldana-husband Richard, Cathy Galindo-husband Leonard and Margaret Hanna-husband Terry. They also have twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Our mother was preceded in death by her Father, Mother along with two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by husband Elias B Flores III, three sisters Ruby Garcia, Helen Garcia Garcia, Mary Dolores Hernandez and Ophelia Morales and Brother Manuel Garcia, all residents of Kern County. Our mother had many talents and was an avid quilter. You could go by her home at any time and be treated to the newest quilt in progress. They were many and varied in beauty and skill. There were many happy recipients of her quilts. Mom also donated her time and expertise to La Sociedad De Oro Sucursal #12, an organization she believed in very strongly and enjoyed immensely, where she served as Pro-Tem Treasurer. Estella passed away at 4:45 pm Wednesday May 12. 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving husband of 60 years and all her children. 10:00 am Mass of the Resurrection for Estella G. Flores, age 79 of Bakersfield, will be officiated by Father Miguel Flores, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wednesday May 19, 2010. 2 to 8pm chapel visitation will be at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30.
