Estefana Rodriguez November 28, 1931 – May 9, 2016 Estefana was born November 28, 1931 in Circleville, Texas to Luisa (Maldonado) and Eutimio Esqueda. She married Francisco Rodriguez in October 3, 1953 in Texas. They lived in Lubbock, Texas until moving to California in 1968 and settling in Shafter in 1970. Estefana worked for Jackson Perkins Rose Growers for 20 years. Estefana had a green thumb and loved to work in the garden. She also loved dancing, walking and window shopping. Estefana had a strong faith in Christ and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church. Estefana is survived by her children, Mario Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, Olga McCarthy, Alisia Rodriguez, Rosemary Berlanga, and Jessie Rodriguez; 27 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Frank Rodriguez who passed away in 1998; sisters, Antonia Esqueda Garcia and Maria Ibarra; brothers, Pablo Esqueda, Blas Esqueda and Pete Esqueda. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 13 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park for Estefana Rodriguez, age 84, who passed away May 9, 2016 in Bakersfield. Pastor Manuel Carrillo of the New Life Apostolic Church will officiate and interment will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
