Ernestina Juarez was born in Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on September 20, 1936, to parents, Jose and Santos Carrillo. She married Manuel Juarez on December 29, 1954 in Garza Gonzalez. The couple were blessed with a large family and they made their home in Central California. Ernestina was deeply devoted to her love for the Lord; she enjoyed giving of herself to her church. Over the years she acted in many capacities for the church, from cooking and sewing to fund raising and assisting with charity events, and acting as a secretary and treasurer. Ernestina was preceded in death by her son, Gerardo Juarez. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Manuel Juarez; their children, Maria and husband Rafael Villarreal, daughter-in-law, Angelina Juarez, Javier Juarez and wife Irasema, Santa and husband Marcos Gonzalez, Alma and husband David Ortiz; their grandchildren, Rafael Jr., Saul, Daniel, Edgar, Eric, Glendy, Gerardo Jr., Denise, Irene, Isabel, Aimee, Julieanna, Eliana, Esteban, Jonathan, Jocelyn and Danella; and 22 great-grandchildren. Ernestina passed away in Selma, CA, on February 23, 2021. A viewing will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021 beginning at noon (viewing begins at 11:00am) at Iglesia Apostolica Cristo Viene Centro Nueva Vida, located at 5880 District Blvd. #3, Bakersfield, CA 93311. Pastor Gilberto Cardona will officiate.
