Eric Wilson was born June 14, 1985 to Sonny and Belinda (Webb) Wilson in Bakersfield, California. He was a lifelong resident of Shafter attending Shafter elementary schools and graduating from Shafter High School with the Class of 2003. He was a survivor, suffering with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 3 years old; he lived with a zest for life that disabilities could not conquer. In his younger years he wrestled, but enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Football was his favorite and he was an honorary mascot for the high school team attending practices and keeping stats. He worked for the Shafter Recreation Department as scorekeeper, at Kern Crest Manor as assistant to the activities director and for SJS Trucking doing office work. His free time was spent playing cards (Poker) with his friends, cheating if at all possible. His all time favorite was fishing. He loved the outdoors, hunting and camping with his father at Green Horn Mountain. His leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Sonny & Belinda Wilson; 2 sisters, Stephanie and Kandace; grandmother, Delores Wilson; many aunts and uncles and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess Webb, Alene Webb and Sonny Kid Wilson. Funeral services under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held Saturday, July 7 at 10am at the Shafter Jesus Saves Church of God, 425 Shafter Avenue. Pastor Steve Seymour will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5 from 2pm to 8pm and Friday, July 6 from 4pm to 8pm.
