Enedina "Esther" Lopez, was born on March 29, 1926. She passed away peacefully at her home in Pixley, after a short illness, on February 4, 2013. Esther was born in Edna, Texas and moved with her family to Shafter in 1950. She married Tiofilo Lopez in 1953. They made their home on the ranch in Pixley. After Tiofilo's death, she continued living there until her passing. She worked very hard on her ranch and even up to 3 months before her death was on her house roof repairing whatever needed to be done at the age of 86. She was very faithful to her church and her faith. She was a wonderful sister and Tia to her numerous nieces and nephews. She was always a happy person. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, Francisca DeLuna Marquez and Rafael Marquez. Her brothers Javier and Ralph Jr. Marquez, her sister Consuelo Marquez and her husband Tiofilo Lopez. She is survived by her siblings Cornado Marquez, Ruven Marquez, Henrietta Rodriguez, Belen Lombrano, Velia Marquez and Sarah Alcala and also her many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Esther Lopez will be held on Monday February 11, 2013 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm, followed by Mass at St. Theresa's Catholic Church on Tuesday February 12, 2013 at 10am with internment at Shafter Memorial Park.
