IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elvesta Beth
Burns
November 9, 1938 – July 5, 2023
Elvesta Beth Jones (later to be known as Becky Burns), 84, of Shafter California, passed away on 07/05/2023, from Heart Failure/Dementia.
Becky was Born November 9th, 1938; in Mabank Texas. At the age of 2 her family moved out to California on horse and buggy.
She married at the young age of 17. Had two wonderful daughters Katherine Tatum, and Karen Perales. She later remarried Jim Burns, whom fulfilled all of her dreams and wishes until he passed in 1994.
As a Mother, Becky shared her love for gardening, and an appreciation for the great outdoors. She expressed to not take life too seriously, as life is just too short.
Many will know her from Shafter High where she was a Study Hall Proctor/Detention Supervisor. She often spoke so highly of the students that surrounded her. Many of whom even made her gifts in their Home Economics class (which she kept all of these years).
Becky enjoyed gardening, joking/pranking, crocheting, baking, and embroidering.
She was an amazing grandmother to Michael Adams, Mark Adams, Greg Adams, Brianne Perales, & Olivia Olguin. Grandma Becky engaged in play time every chance she got. Including sleep over at grandmas, buying toys for cops and robbers, making Halloween outfits, baking our favorite pies, and telling scary stories.
Becky was a proud great grandmother of Everlee, Eli, Hailey, Hunter, Kipton, Sawyer.
If given the opportunity, she would do anything to make you laugh. All she ever wanted was for her family to be happy and safe. She was surrounded by family during her passing, they did their best to give her piece by sharing their favorite memories that made them laugh. She took her final breath after some tear-filled laughs.
She is survived by Kathy Tatum (daughter), Karen/David Perales (daughter & son-in-law),
[Michael/Lianna (kids: Everlee, Eli), Mark/Kristen (kids: Hailey, Hunter), Greg/Taylor (kids: Kipton, Sawyer)] (grandsons), [Brianne/Jonathan, Olivia/Isaia] (granddaughters).
We take peace in knowing that she is in God's care now, surrounded by all of her family and friends who went before her. We will cherish her lessons, carry on her values, share her wisdom, and appreciate all of the memories she created. Your laugh and jokes will be truly missed. We love you.
