Elva Lee Preston was born in Wasco, CA on June 21,1931. She met her Redeemer face to face May 10, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Juan & Daphne Thompson. She is preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Shields and Lassie Samuel. She is survived by her sister Jessie Warner. She met her husband Frank Preston in Lost Hills, California and their first date was a school football game. She was embarrassed by him and refused to sit with him. He came all decked out in a fancy suit looking to impress. His kind and gentle character won her over and they were married in February 1948. For over 60 years they owned, labored, and poured into the success of Preston's Tire Service in Shafter. She is proceeded in death by her children Larry Preston and Linda Anderson. She is survived by daughter Kathy Preston. Elva and Frank both served faithfully in the Shafter Missionary Baptist Church and in their later years were members at First Missionary Baptist Church of Bakersfield. After 65 years of marriage Elva was preceded in death by her husband Frank Preston in 2013. She is survived by granddaughters Lisa Langley, Kristen Coats, and grandson Jeff Anderson.She is preceded in death by grandson Robert Anderson. She leaves behind nieces, nephews and many great grandchildren. She will truly be missed. I have attached a photo as well if possible for the obituary.
