Eloise P. Shaw, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on August 14, 2012. She was born on September 26, 1923 to George Proctor and Sydney Gillmore in Fairfield, Texas. She was a resident of California for 69 years and resident of Yucca Valley for 9 years. She moved to California from Texas in 1943 and worked in the Department of Defense Plants during World War II in San Francisco, CA; and worked as a Caregiver for the remaining duration of her working career. She was married to and predeceased by Mr. George Robert Taylor, and from that union they had their daughter Marti Taylor. She was married a second time to a Mr. Lee M. Shaw who also has predeceased her. Eloise was known for her "Green Thumb" because she loved gardening, in which she grew and tended to many flowers and vegetables including all types of Greens which she believed was the key to longevity. She also was a great cook and is remembered by her delicious meals into which she put tons of love and work. Eloise was also predeceased by two brothers, George Proctor Jr. and Lawrence Proctor. She leaves behind a daughter Marti (Taylor) Green and Son-in-Law Donald Green of Yucca Valley, California; a sister Sydney Mae Chatman of Alta Dena, California; a sister Ruby L. Harris of Houston, Texas; and a huge host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at Wiefels Funeral Chapel in Palm Springs, California. A second Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Texas.
