Ella Mae Walker was born January 6, 1924 in Creek County, Oklahoma to Nora (Williams) and William Fincher. Ella came to Shafter during WWII and made a home to raise her family. She and her late husband, Dee, were very involved and active with the Church of Christ. Ella is survived by her children, Jeannie Walker of Bakersfield, Dee (Butch) Arlan Walker, Jr. of Conway, AR. And Keith Walker of Spokane, WA.; sisters, Bobbie Hines of Chula Vista, Maryann Adams of Kingman AZ and Nell Skaggs of Sapulpa, OK. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ella is preceded in death by husband Dee Walker, who passed away in 1987 and son John Walker. A funeral service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, at 1pm at the Church of Christ. Pastor Joe Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of choice.
