Elida was born on March 20, 1931 in Raymondville, Texas to parents Benito Cortinas and Fernanda (Vitela) Cortinas. Elida was a great mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She was a dedicated mother of 8 who enjoyed the company of her family and friends. Elida was a social person who loved listening to Spanish music. Elida entered into eternal life on May 12, 2021 in Bakersfield, Ca. Elida is survived by her daughters; Norma Olivo, Anabel Trevino; son, Dennis Samarripas; 26 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren; brother, George Cortinas from Bay City, Texas; sister, Dolores Cortinas Martinez from Bay City, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Samarripas Jr.; sons, Ruben Samarripas, Elias Samarripas, Joseph Samarripas, Pablo Samarripas Jr. II; daughter, Alice Solis Samarripas; grandson, David Solis.
