Elias V. Fombona 1920 - 2011 Elias Fombona Viveros,90, died on the morning of April 23, 2011 in his Arvin, CA residence. He was born May 8,1920, to Manuel and Balvina Fombona in Los Fresnos, Guerrero,Mexico. He was raised there with his brothers and sisters on their family's ranch. He never went to school, but knew how to read and write. He was a hard working man. In 1947, he came to the U.S. as a "Brazero" to make a better living. He went back to Mexico to marry Aurelia Diaz Garcia in February 1964. He had 4 more children. Elias raised a large family, having 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He has been granted angle wings. Visitation was Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 5-10 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Arvin Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was Friday, April 29, 2011, at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Church in Arvin, with burial following at Arvin Cemetery.
