Effie Jane Barnes was born July 9, 1925 in Hopping, McClain, Oklahoma to Theodore Anderson and Mary Etta Tabner. She passed away November 4, 2011 in Shafter, California. Effie was the youngest of ten children which have all preceded her in death. Effie came to California in 1945, and has lived in the Wasco and Shafter area for 66 years. Effie worked at the Belridge Packing Company for over fifteen years, before she retired. Effie was a loving and generous person, who often put herself last. Effie had two daughters, Mary Flud Jones of Shafter, California who preceded her in death and Carolyn Cassianni of Lancaster, California. She had two grandchildren, Cindy Flud Abernathy of Shafter and Richard Flud of Korea; five great-grandchildren, Michaela Abernathy and Michael T. Abernathy of Shafter, Danelle Higdon, Alex Flud and Crystal Flud of Korea and two great great-grandchildren, Maryenne and Donavon Higdon of Korea. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 9 at 12:30pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Effie Jane Barnes, age 86.
