Edmundo Martinez Hernandez, born on August 26, 1937, in Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on April 9, 2024, in Arvin, California, at the age of 86. Edmundo moved to El Paso, Texas when he was 13 yrs old then came to Arvin, California at 18 yrs. of age. Edmundo married Dolores Miranda Hernandez on October 17, 1956 and they were married shy of 50 yrs. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and sibling. Edmundo was known for his love of music, cars and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and staying active through physical activities like working out, biking, and walking.

Edmundo had a successful career in plumbing and construction in El Paso, Texas, before working various farm labor jobs in Arvin. He was dedicated member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Arvin for several years then attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lamont.

He is survived by his children Nicky Hernandez, Andres Hernandez and Penny Hernandez, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grand children. Edmundo was preceded in death by his parents; Andres Hernandez, Petra Martinez, Inocencia Chavez, First wife; Dolores Miranda Hernandez, Second Wife; Dolores Ochoa, Son; Edmundo Hernandez, Jr., Grandson; Raul S. Perez, Jr., and Siblings; Manuel Hernandez, Roberto Hernandez.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support during this time of grief.

Services to honor and remember Edmundo will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Peters Funeral Home in Arvin, CA, with viewing from 4pm-8pm and a Rosary at 6pm. A Mass will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10 am, followed by burial at Arvin Cemetery at 11am.
