Funeral services were conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Edmidio (Eddie) Gaona, age 53, who passed away on October 26, 2006. A church service was held on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at 1pm, at the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church; officiated by Pastor Jose Reynoso and Pastor Netz Gomez. Interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park. Eddie was born in Riverdale, California, on June 3, 1953, to Maria and Venustiano Gaona; who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Silvia Gaona and his children, Alex, Cynthia, Eddie, Benny and Aarron Gaona. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage, Edmidio Jr., Christina, Veronica, and Jessica. In addition, Eddie is survived by eight grandchildren, Celso, Aaron, Angelique, Michael, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, and Jeremy. Eddie leaves behind his five brothers and four sisters, Santiago, Guadalupe, Javier, Thomas, Joe, Rosabla, Evangelina, Margarita and Trinidad Gaona. Eddie was a loving father, husband and a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He loved to play golf and go fishing whenever he got the chance. People loved being around Eddie as he always had something to say that would make you laugh and he had a special way of making you feel at ease. Eddie was very generous and would always put other people's needs before his own. Eddie, your brothers and sisters in the Lord don't say goodbye, but look forward in joining you in the presence of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
