Aubrey was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Spurgeon and Annie McNew. He moved to California as a young boy and attended local schools, graduating from Shafter High in 1953. Aubrey moved to Burbank where he was an aircraft mechanic for Lockheed and various other aircraft companies. He served in Vietnam as a civilian helicopter mechanic for one year. Aubrey worked for local crop dusting companies until his retirement. He loved to travel and visit Canada, New York City, Arizona, Seattle and many other places. Aubrey was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the mountains sharing those experiences with his grandson Jared, who he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. Aubrey is survived by his daughter Karen her husband Tim, grandson Jared, and brother Jim. Services will be Friday Sept. 9, at 1:00 pm at Peters Funeral Home, 844 E. Lerdo Hwy, Shafter CA.
