Dortha (Dot) Sue Nichols October 3, 1935 – August 21, 2021 Dot Nichols was born in Ozark, Arkansas on October 3, 1935, to Vera and Jess Spillers. Dot Spent her youngest years in Ozark, Arkansas. When she was a teenager the family moved to Arvin, CA where she met Thurman (TJ) Nichols. Dot was introduced to TJ by his sister, Charlene. They were married December 22, 1953. Dot was a stay-at-home mom when her daughters were younger, as they got older she began packing peaches for Kovacevich Farm and Richardson Farm for approximately 50 years. Some of mom's favorite things to do were spending time with her family, making silk floral arrangements, and sitting on her front porch, When TJ was alive, mom and dad enjoyed camping at Morro Bay. She is preceded in death by her mother Vera Dewitt, her father Jess Spillers, her husband TJ Nichols, her daughter Rebecca Franklin (John), her sisters Virginia Twyford and Francis Brown. She is survived by her brother Jim Wigley (Sharron), daughter's Treva Eden (Gary), and Beverly Brar, as well as grandchildren; Emiliann Pernick (Michael), Austin Eden (Jackie), Matthew Eden (Haley), Baldev Brar (Melissa), Sukie Brar, great grandchildren; Audrey Eden, Finnley Pernick, Greyson Pernick, Luke Eden and great granddaughter, Robin Brar as well as numerous nephews and nieces. We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and their staff including Bakersfield Family Medical Center and the Shafter Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care you gave to our mother. We would like to express our gratitude to family and friends, especially the Garcia family for all their love and support. Viewing will be held at the Arvin Assembly of God from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Graveside Services will be held at the South Kern Cemetery District (Arvin Cemetery) at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, August 27, 2021.
