Obituary

Dorothy Kopper recently of Reedley, died on March 4, 2009. She was 87 years old. Miss Kopper was a missionary with Mennonite Brethren Missions/Services for 35 years. Dorothy served in the Congo as a school teacher, principal and authored a book, Assignment Zaire, recounting her experiences. Dorothy is survived by her sister Frances Krause of Rosedale and brother, Edwin Kopper of Aptos. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Susi Kopper of Bakersfield, sisters, Alice Newfield of Bakersfield and Florence Siebert of Fresno and brother, Art Kopper of Shafter. Memorial gifts may be made to Mennonite Brethren Missions/Services International, MBMSI, 4867 E. Townsend, Fresno, California 93727 A graveside services will be held on Friday, March 13, at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park under the direction of Peters Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:30am at Heritage Bible Church in Bakersfield.
