Donna Lynn Barnes was born October 5, 1963 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Jeanetta Jones and Otis Doyle Ritch. The family moved to Shafter shortly after that and Donna attended Shafter elementary schools and Shafter High School. She graduated from South High in Bakersfield. Donna and Charles Barnes were married December 13, 1997. Donna was a homemaker and enjoyed making jewelry and working in the garden. Donna was a wonderful grandmother and loved spending time and doing things with her grandchildren. Donna is survived by her husband Chuck of Shafter; daughter, Sarai and husband Alan Lowe of Wasco; mother, Jeanette and husband Russell Markham; mother-in-law, Linda Hamilton; brother, Vernon Adkins; sisters, LaVonda Kingston, and Brenda Harshman; 3 grandchildren, Emma Rose, Kaleb and Devin; and many other loving family members. Donna was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Adkins. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, November 4 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
