Donald R. Sherrell, 82, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Bakersfield, California surrounded by his family.

Donald was born on April 20, 1944, in Parma, Missouri, to Robert and Gilla Sherrell. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1965 to 1967 and later worked for Shell Oil for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Arneda Lauderdale and Judy Gray.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cathy Sherrell; his daughters and sons-in-law, Janine and Rob Gonzalez, and Jeniffer and Mark Hernandez; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Pat Hamilton, Janie Cross, and Nancy Bice; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held  on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10 am at Shafter Memorial Park
