Donald Richard Lyon, a 64-year resident of California and a 21-year resident of Yucca Valley, died at home of natural causes July 6, 2012. He was 64 years old. The son of Richard Charles Lyon and Irene Pearl (Springer) Lyon, he was born April 4, 1948, in Pasadena. He was employed in the transportation industry until retiring. Don had lots of friends in the horse community and enjoyed riding his horse Destiny. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Lyon of Yucca Valley; his sisters, Wilene Periandri of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Dorene Scrima of Grants Pass, Ore.; his brother, Ronald Lyon of Grants Pass, Ore.; and his sons, Dennis Lyon of Stuart, Fla., Randy Lyon of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Scott Lyon of Fort Meyers, Fla. He also is survived by one grandchild. A celebration of life memorial service begins at 7:30 p.m. July 29 at Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel.
