Donald Blythe Ashmore age 51 went home to be with the lord Saturday March 2, 2013. He passed away peacefully at his home in Shafter, California. Donnie was born in Bakersfield, California and grew up in Shafter. He graduated from Shafter High School in 1979. During his lifetime he participated in little league, cross-country and was passionate about motorcycles and hot rods. During his employment career he worked for the following companies: Cornet Department Store, San Joaquin Tractor, Brenda Mesa Farms, Ed Smith Welding and various other oilfield related jobs. Donnie met the love of his life Jennifer Richardson also from Shafter and married her in December of 1998. Donnie was blessed to have loving Christian parents Dennis and Carolyn Ashmore who raised him to know the Lord. He loved all of his family and all who knew him knew he had a big and generous heart. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Ashmore, parents Dennis and Carolyn Ashmore, brothers Marlon and Darren Ashmore and many other family members. Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leland & Eula Ashmore, John & Addie Cotton; uncles, Dausie Petty, Gaylon Cotton, Johnnie Mac Cotton, Lewis Ashmore, Dwayne Ashmore, Clarence Kelton & sister-in-law Janice Richardson. Donnie, until we meet again you will forever be in our hearts and we will cherish all the fond memories. Funeral Service for Donald was held on Friday March 8, 2013 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel at 11am.
