On June 28th Diane received her wings and will forever watch over her family. Diane was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and relatives. Although Diane did not regularly attend a local church she did acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior. Diane Johnson Dana was born May 3rd 1948, in Bakersfield California to Arlee and Lucille Jonson. Diane was the 8th of sixteen children, she grew up in Arvin California where she attended Sierra Vista Elementary School, Haven Drive Jr. High school and Arvin High School. She also continued her education at Bakersfield College. After attending Bakersfield College Diane was employed at Kern County Superintendent of schools for 15 years. Dian's love for others lead her into the field of in home health care where she worked as a Caregiver. Diane was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and Aunt whose great compassion touched many lives. She brought smiles to all that knew her with her magnetic personality became known as Nana! Diane spent many of her years loving and taking care of all her grand and great grandchildren. At family gatherings you could find her (STEPPIN THE NAME OF LOVE) while whipping up something delicious in her kitchen which was open 24 hours a day. Nan's Kitchen was were memories were made and grandkids were spoiled. Diane loved shopping at the thrift stores and going to the casino, she loved spending time with family. Diane was preceded in death my parents Arlee and Lucille Johnson; siblings Carl, Juanita, Paul, Dale, Foster, Van, Glen and Dewayne. She leaves to cherish the celebration of her life her husband of 35 years Robert Dana; three children Candace Wilkerson (Floyd), LeAnn Jamison and DeAndre Wilson; seven siblings Cecil Johnson, Carol Gholston (Ben), Stacy Johnson Loretta Wassner (Frank), Bernice Johnson, Arlee Johnson Jr., and Roland Johnson; seven grandchildren Art, Ariel, Jayson, Lil Candace, Jaynique, Skye and Demi; three great grandchildren Aadyn, Paris and Landon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
