Derham Mohamed was born April 20, 1956 in Yemen. His family moved to California when he was 13 years old. He met Yolanda Castro in 1981 and they were married in 1982. Derham owned Hadda Market and J & M Market in Arvin and worked very hard in the business and for his family. Derham loved his family and grandchildren and watched them everyday after school. Derham had a big heart and would always help people out. Everyone had only good words to say about him. Derham is survived by his wife of 24 years, Yolanda Mohamed of Arvin; sons, Ali Mohamed and his wife Amanda of Arvin and Derham Mohamed of Sacramento; daughters, Layla Mohamed of Arvin and Fatima Mohamed of Sacramento; 8 grandchildren and many other loving family and friends, including his close friends, Cesar Benavidez and Eduardo Garcia. A visitation will be held Monday, October 22 at Arvin Funeral Home from 2pm to 8pm with an evening service at 7pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 23 at 1pm at the Alfarooq Islamic Center, 615 Kentucky, Bakersfield with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
