Denton L. Carender Sr. AKA Dent went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2020 at the age of 69. He passed peacefully at San Jouquin Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born August 29, 1950, in Bakersfield Ca., the son of Clarence E. and Annabell (Robbins) Carender. He was the youngest of six children. Dent graduated from WHS Class of 1968. Following graduation, he honorably served with the U.S. Marine Corp. for two years. Upon discharge, he married the love of his life Pamela (Taylor) Carender on January 22, 1972. After their wedding, they moved into their home in Wasco Ca where they raised their two children, Denton "Denny" Carender Jr. and Torie (Carender) Huddleston. Dent started his career as an auto mechanic at a service station. He then became a heavy machine mechanic and shop foreman for an agriculture company. He eventually retired from Precision Pump as a shop foreman. Dent enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour novels and watching old westerns. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. Dent was most happy spending time with his family. He rarely missed an opportunity to be part of his children's and/or grandchildren's lives. In Dent's later years, he enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows, relaxing on the front porch with his wife Pam, and working in his garden. Dent is survived by his wife Pam, son Denny and daughter-in-law Yolanda, daughter Torie and son-in-law Ryan, grandchildren: Annissa and husband Christian, Sammy and wife Molly, Emma, and great-grandchildren: Julian and Levi, Sister Betty, Brother Billy, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be Thursday June, 18, 2020 at 10:00am at Wasco Memorial Park with a reception to follow at Peter's Funeral Home in Wasco.
