Delores Faye Wilson was born August 23, 1941 in Casa Grande, Arizona one of five daughters born to Gladys and Shelby Tankersley. The family moved to Shafter when Delores was a young girl and she married Sonny Wilson June 3, 1958. Delores served her family as a homemaker and was an excellent cook. The whole neighborhood knew when she was baking bread and pies; and cooking fried chicken and chicken and dumplings. She was also a beautician and always wore make-up and looked pretty. Delores loved her children and even helped to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny in 2002; grandchildren, Eric, Danny, Dylan and Dakota; and sister, Imogene. She is survived by her sons, Danny, Sonny, Vincent and John; daughters, Regina, Sonja, Gwendolyn and Kimberly; sisters, Connie, Shirley and June; 36 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 3 on the way, and 3 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter will be held Thursday, May 28 at 11am at Shafter Memorial Park for Delores Faye Wilson, age 73, of Shafter who passed away May 21, 2015 in Alpaugh.
