In Loving Memory of Debra Joyce Ornelas 

Debra Joyce Ornelas, affectionately known as Debbie, age 74, of Shafter, CA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California. She leaves behind cherished memories and the love of family and friends who will deeply miss her.

Debbie was born on December 23, 1951, in Casa Grande, Arizona, to Theodore "Buster" Eubanks and Mary Eubanks. She graduated from Shafter High School in 1969 and worked as a cashier at Ghilarducci's Market and Truck Stop of America in Buttonwillow, CA.

Debbie found joy in spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing volleyball, listening to music, having BBQs, and playing bingo. Her warm spirit, sense of fun, and love for those around her created memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Debbie was married to Freddie Ornelas, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Alysha and Liana. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Alysha Ornelas; grandchildren, Ashlynn, Kayla, and Jaysha Mallard; great-grandchildren, Remy, Reniya Mallard, and Elin McFatten; and sisters, JoAnn Baron and Faye Britt. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Mary Eubanks; sisters Evelyn Copeland, Margaret Bellanger, Barbara Ford, Patricia Cox, Sandy Duran, Ernie Walls; and her brother, Ted Eubanks.

Though Debbie is no longer with us, her love, laughter, and memories will live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her. Her life was a gift, and she will be deeply missed.
