Deborah "Debbie" Ann Colbert was born on October 25, 1959, in Patterson, California to J.W. Daves and Shirley Daves. Deborah was the second of five children. As a small child, Deborah's family settled in Bakersfield, California, where she spent the rest of her life. Deborah was a graduate of North High School in Oildale, class of 1977 and was known to frequently proclaim, "Once a Star, Always a Star." Deborah married Michael Colbert on November 25, 1982 and they raised two children together. Deborah loved spending time with her family and was passionate about working as a medical transcriptionist. Deborah was an animal lover and had several cats and dogs throughout her life. She especially loved her Great Dane named Howie. Deborah is survived by her husband, Michael Colbert; brother James "Toby" Daves and his wife, Diana Daves; brother Brian Daves; sister Sheryl Daves; son Jason Colbert and his wife, Jamie Colbert; son Jeffrey Colbert; and three grandsons, Michael Colbert, Jax Colbert and Parker Colbert, and numerous nephews and nieces. Deborah passed away December 22, 2020 in Bakersfield, California. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 30, beginning at 2:00pm.
