Debbie Ann Rodriguez was born December 15, 1960 in Hanford, CA to parents Bobby and Nelda (Wooldridge) McVay. Debbie lived in a number of different communities throughout the San Joaquin Valley (Corcoran, Hanford, Chowchilla, Bakersfield, Shafter and most recently Wasco), spending most of her life in the smaller towns around Bakersfield. She attended school in Shafter and graduated from Shafter High. In 1979 she married Raul Rodriguez in Oildale, CA. Debbie worked for Richland School Dist. in Shafter, and she was involved in local church ministry; she loved the Lord with all of her heart. Debbie cared for others and actively participated in food drives for the less fortunate and she was blessed with friendships all over the Valley. She passed away at her home in Wasco on November 25, 2015. Debbie, or Sis, as she was known by those close to her, is survived by her 3 sons, Eric (Bakersfield), Marcus (Shafter) and Ryan Rodriguez (Wasco); she also leaves behind her siblings, Dana Rodriguez (Shafter), Denise McVay (Hanford), Jerry McVay (Wasco) and Richard McGowan (Visalia); and 5 grandchildren. A memorial service for Debbie will be held at 10am on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Wasco Freewill Baptist Church; Pastor Danny Scott will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
