David Lee Long was born Jan. 7, 1957 to Velma and Lonnie L. Long in Madera, CA and passed away Mar. 24, 2009 in Bakersfield. He lived in the Bakersfield area for 30 years. David had a big heart and would open his home to anyone who needed it. In his spare time he loved bowling and spending time with his grandchildren, he loved to cook and watch TV. He is very loved and will be very missed by all who knew him. David is preceded in death by his mother Velma Christine Long (1987) and is survived by his loving wife Lori and their 5 children, daughters, Lacey, Leanne, Loni; sons, Derek and Donovan; father Lonnie L. Long; sister Kim Shepard; 3 grandchildren, Caleb and Cailyn Mcelwrath and Miley Jae. Graveside services will be held for David Lee Long, age 52, at Shafter Memorial Park on Monday, March 30, 2009 - 2pm. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 29, 2009.
