David James Dieter was born November 23, 1942 in Bakersfield, California to Matthew and Lois (Brown) Dieter. David attended the local Wasco schools. Ha married the love of his life Caroline (Nixon) Dieter 44 years ago. He worked as a supervisor for the U.S Postal Service for 30 years. He loved fishing and playing golf. David was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Doris Holt. He is survived by his loving wife Caroline Dieter; sons, Daniel and wife Monica of Wasco, Jeffrey and wife Denise of Bakersfield; Daughter, Julie and husband Greg Escalante of Colorado; brother Russel Dieter of Santa Rosa; sister Rebecca Pendergraft and 8 grandchildren. A funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was held at Christ The King Church in Bakersfield, on June 10, 2009 at 10 am for David James Dieter, age 66, of Wasco, who passed away June 5, 2009 in Delano. Msgr. Stephen Frost of Christ The King Church officiated the service and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park. A private visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 9, 2009 from 5 pm – 7 pm.
