Danny Scott, 72, of Wasco, CA, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2024, at his home in Wasco, CA. Danny was born in Wasco, CA to Clyde and Patsy Scott on July 27, 1951 and was born again on February 8, 1978.

Danny went to school in Wasco and worked for Jackson and Perkins for 21 years before becoming the pastor of the Wasco Free Will Baptist Church in March 1991.

Danny met Pam, the love of his life, and daughter Tracey in 1973. They were married on August 2, 1974 and they became a family of three. On July 9, 1975 their daughter, and his namesake, Danelle was born and their family was complete, or so they thought. From the first grandson, Caleb, until the last grandson Matthew, and then a great-grandson, Dakota, his grandkids were one of the greatest joys of his life and he loved spending any time he could with them.

When Danny first started pastoring the Wasco Free Will Baptist Church there were 3 couples and four ladies who were faithful to Sunday morning services. In the first year of ministry souls were saved at almost every service and a 30-year attendance record was broken with a new one of 151. In 1992 a remodel was started but it was quickly evident that the building could not keep up with the rate of growth that was being experienced. The F Street building was sold and church was held in the Veteran's Hall for two years. The Wasco Theater was purchased and completely remodeled until the doors were finally opened in October, 1995. As pastor of the Wasco Free Will Baptist Church Danny had a burden early on to fulfill Matthew 25:35 and by 2024 the church was involved in the bus, convalescent hospital, prison, clothing and food ministries, as well as a Pre K-12th grade Christian school.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Patsy Scott, and his sister Helen. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, 11 months, Pam Scott, his daughters Tracey Kilgore and husband Jimmy of Waco, TX, Danelle Lopez and husband Oliver of Bakersfield, CA, grandchildren Caleb Kilgore and wife Samantha of Franklin, TN, Hannah Kilgore and fiancé Max of Bakersfield. CA, Justus Brooks of Bakersfield, CA , Samuel Kilgore of Oceanside, CA, Emily Brooks of Bakersfield, CA, Daniel Kilgore of Hendersonville, TN, Matthew Lopez, of Bakersfield, CA and great-grandson Dakota Catalina of Bakersfield, CA.

Visitation services will begin at 4:00 on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, California. Graveside services to follow on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park.
