A chapel service was held at Peters Funeral Home for Daniel Hinojosa, Sr., age 24, on Sunday, October 15, 2006, at 10am. Pastor Jose Ochoa of the Primera Iglesia Bautista officiated. Visitation was held on Saturday, October 14, 2006, from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home. Interment followed at Shafter Memorial Park. Daniel was born in Bakersfield to Jose and Maria Hinojosa on March 9, 1982. He graduated from Shafter High School. He was employed in the oilfields as an oilfield worker for the past two years. Daniel enjoyed fishing and working on cars watching movies and spending time with his family and friends. Daniel had recently accepted the Lord as his savior, this brought great happiness and pride to his parents and family. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Montoya on March 1, 2005. He is survived by his parents, Jose Sr. and Maria Hinojosa; sons, Daniel, Anthony and Jesus; daughter, Jadin; fiancée, Irene Lopez; brothers, Jose Jr. and Ivan; sister, Irma all of Shafter; grandparents, Irma Guajardo and Lucio Perez of Tamaulipas, Mexico; and Abdon Montoya of Shafter. Daniel was greatly loved and he lives on in his children and in the memories of those who loved him. The family is very proud of him and his recent accomplishments, he overcame many hardships and he will be missed very much.
