Clifford Ray Sanders was born in Porterville, California on May 5, 1941 to C.C. and Mary Sanders. Clifford grew up in Tulare with his two siblings, Charles and Naomi. He graduated from Tulare Union High School and went to work for the Advanced Register. He entered the banking field in the mid 70's. Clifford was very active in the community with Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and served on the Tulare City Planning Commission. He was awarded the "Most Outstanding Young Man of America" award by the National Chamber of Commerce and was listed in their annual book. He worked for Bank of America and Farm Credit Bank for over 30 years. Clifford was married to Lynne and they moved to Shafter in 1979 where together they raised their two sons. He loved vacations in Las Vegas where he was able to make many memories with his wife. Before his illness, Clifford spent his leisure time fishing and playing golf. He always cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Clifford passed away on Sunday January 7, 2018 in Bakersfield, California. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Lynne; sons Kenny, his wife Stefanie and Craig, his wife Michelle; 8 grandchildren;6 great grandchildren; and brother Charles and sister-in-law Gloria of Tulare. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents and sister Naomi Smith. A Memorial Service will be held at Shafter Christian Fellowship on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11 am.
