Clarence W. Hampton December 28, 1918 – January 30, 2010 Clarence Hampton of Bakersfield passed away at his home at the age of 91. He was born in Texas December 28, 1918 to James and Minnie(Dickson) Hampton. Clarence was a WWII Army veteran, he came to Shafter in 1952 and managed a cotton ginning operation for many years. He is survived by his stepchildren Phillip Howard and Brenda Freaney of Bakersfield. Brother Luther (Boots) Hampton of Wasco and Sister Doris Rhodes and her husband Glenn of Oklahoma. A graveside service was held on Friday February 5, 2010 at the Shafter Memorial Park under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
