Clairee Battle September 8, 1924 ~ October 5, 2011 Clairee Battle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at 5:45 p.m. She is survived by her children Jonathan Battle of Chino, CA, Keith Battle and wife Melissa of Visalia, CA, Cherie Wilkins and husband Gregg of Bakersfield, CA, and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Battle was born September 8, 1924, one of twelve children of whom she outlived all. She married her sweetheart, E.O Battle in July of 1943. In 1944, they moved to California . She served faithfully with her husband on several foreign fields as missionaries for 11 years. She also served as pastor's wife in Goshen , CA, for twelve years, and in Arcata , CA,for one and a half years. She loved her grand-kids, Nathaniel, Tiffany, Brooke, Chelsea, Zackary , Victoria , Blain, Preston, Chandler and Lincoln and was loved by all herself. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a wonderful example of goodness, love, kindness, dedication and integrity to God and her family. In her later years she developed a love for all "sweets" especially chocolate! It was well known that a Snickers bar or cookies could get a big smile out of her anytime. You could almost always find her with a crossword book in her hand most days. She loved her "Lil Lincoln" who would say hi to her over and over again as he tried to sneak into her room,he could always get the biggest smile of all. Our hearts are full of sadness on her passing, She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, friend and a true Christian lady. Visitation will be held on October 9, 2011, from 1pm-4pm at Salser and Dillard Funeral Home, 127 East Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA, 93277, Services will be held on Monday October 10, 2011, at 11am at Pentecostal Lighthouse, 1219 West Noble Ave , Visalia , CA, 93277, followed by graveside at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA, 93291.
