Ms. Christine Coonan Olson, 68 Hospice Nurse / Registered Nurse Ms. Christine Coonan Olson, a 26 year resident of Yucca Valley, California died on August 3, 2009. She was 68 years old. A service will be held at St. Christopher's of the Desert Catholic Church on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 9:30 a.m., in Joshua Tree, with Father Ignatius Rasquinha officiating. A private Interment will be at Joshua Tree Memorial Park. Ms. Coonan Olson is survived by daughters Christine Marie "Tea` Reace" of Spokane, WA and Melissa Therese Johannsen of Simi Valley, CA; son Michael John Coonan Olson of Ukiah, CA; brother John Patrick Coonan of Shawnee, KS; sister Deborah Burns of Cortez, CO; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Shawn David Allen. She was a Hospice Nurse with the Visiting Nurse's Association for 9 years. The daughter of John R. and June Eble (Green) Coonan, Ms. Christine Coonan Olson was born June 8, 1941, in Los Angeles, California. She received her RN Degree from the College of the Desert in 1985 and was a valued employee as a Registered Nurse for 24 years. She gave to multiple Catholic Charities. Christine was an avid reader and loved gardening, farming, nature, animals, flowers, black bears and the desert. She especially loved to write letters to all her family and friends. She was an author and wrote columns. Christine truly had a gift for writing.
