Christine (Gann) Manning went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Christine was born November 9, 1927 to Louis and Mary Jane (Snelson) Gann in Coweta, Oklahoma. She married Roy Manning December 2, 1944 and the family moved to California in 1950. Christine served her family as a homemaker and also worked seasonally for Jackson and Perkins Rose Growers. She enjoyed crocheting and the family was fortunate to receive her handiwork as gifts. She loved and cared for her family and will be deeply missed by them. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Mary Jane Gann; husband of over 50 years, Roy Manning; daughter, Betty; son, Rick; grandson, Brian Manning; two brothers, Willard and Lloyd; and one sister, Irene. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Teeter and husband Joe of Wonder Valley and Renda Kern and husband Vern of Shafter; son, Johnny Manning and wife Stephanie; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Imogene Jones of Missouri; brothers, Paul Gann of Idaho, Charles and wife Maggie of Arizona and Lee Gann and wife Sylvia of Lake Isabella. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 2pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Christine Manning, age 80, of Shafter who passed away January 12, 2008 in Shafter.
